UV Pond Filters |
Gravity-Pressurized Biological UV Pond Filters |
UV pond filters
essentially provide healthy and clear water for your pond inhabitants,
in a nutshell. There are three manys ways that your koi pond water
is filtered, they are biologically, mechanically and UV
clarification . One of the most commonly used filtration
systems is a pressurized biological pond filter, which
can do a combination of the three filtration methods, making them
very versatile. They can be used as a stand alone or in combination
with other filtration devices, such as a pond
UV clarifier, if it doesn't already
have one.
We carry different types of uv pond filters,
they are:
- External Pond Gravity Filters
- External pond gravity filters are a type of biological
pond filter that utilizes gravity to return the pond water
back to the pond. Due to the nature of its' design it must
be installed above the water level of the pond. They do have
more surface area for bacterial growth than most pressurized
biological pond filters which make them ideal for large
koi ponds.
- Pressurized Biological Pond Filters
- These biological pond filters are sealed and water
tight, which is why they can be pressurized. It's the pressure
created by a koi pond
pump the drives the water out of the filter and returns
it back to the koi pond or garden pond. Some models do come
with a built in UV clarifier
and even a backwash feature for easy cleaning.
